Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort
Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort is a new resort recently built and located on the island of Koh Kood. on the west coast and on the white sandy beach of Ao Tapao. This is a romantic and quiet area which is perfect to relax.
Ao Tapao is the longest beach of Koh Kood with white sand and crystal clear water. There is a long concrete pier at the north of this beach and just nearby this resort. If you go to the right side of this pier you will see a tiny beach. Go there if you want to snorkel, there are lots of rocks and then lots of fish.
In the evening some street food vendors come to the pier and the young local population meet and have fun jumping to the water.
If you are coming from Koh Chang, the speedboat will "drop" you directly in front of the resort, at the beach. Don't worry, you won't have to jump, the staff will wait for you with a ladder and they will carry your luggage.
If you come from Laem Sok, on the mainland near Trat, with one of the fast ferries, you will arrive at the north of the island. Don't worry, with Ko Kut Express, for example, the price of the ticket also includes a transfer from or to your resort. But the best way is to contact the resort and inform them about your arrival, they will make sure your transfer goes well.
At 100 meters from the resort, you will find a small supermarket which is not only selling food and drinks but also beauty products, sun lotions, washing powders, small souvenirs, some cheap jewelry, t-shirts, caps, cigarettes, and even phone accessories. The prices are slightly higher than in Koh Chang but hopefully, you will find what you need.
And at about 2-3 km from the resort, there is a small village with the hospital, the only ATM on the island, a gas station, a bigger grocery shop, and a few bars and restaurants. If you decide to walk there it will take about 20-30 minutes. By scooter, only 2 minutes and you can rent scooters from the reception of the resort, it's about 650 baht per day.
When you will go to the village you will pass a temple which can be visited.
In Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort there are 29 Villas and 40 Superiors Rooms, a restaurant, a beach bar, a fitness centre, a small shop, and a 20 meters long swimming-pool, the longest on the island.
The Villas which are independent stilt buildings are spread in the garden and connected to each other by wooden bridges. Some of them have a sea view and can enjoy beautiful sunsets.
Each villa has its own terrace. They all have a King-size bed, an individual and silent a/c, a ceiling fan, a fridge, 2 free 50 cl bottles of water (daily), a kettle with coffee and tea facilities, an LCD TV, a safety box, a hairdryer, bathrobes and an ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower with cold and hot water.
The Beach Front Villas have an awesome view, especially in the evening at sunset.
There are also 2 big Family Villas which can accept up to 4 adults. Extra beds can be added on request.
The Rooms are located in a remote building 100 meters from the resort. They all have their own balcony and ensuite bathroom with a shower.
They also have the same equipment that the Villas except they all have 2 single beds.
The breakfast is served at the restaurant which is nearby the pool.
Depending on the season, it's a buffet or à la carte. You have the choice between continental or Thai food with tea or coffee, juices, eggs, fresh fruits and so on.
The restaurant is proposing a very large choice of Thai and Western dishes, most of them re-visited. The Chef is taking particular attention to the taste but also to the presentation, making simple dishes to look amazing. It is worthy of a fine dining restaurant.
It's possible to take your meals inside the main restaurant building, where the breakfast is served, but also in front of the beach if the weather allows it.
The chlorine-free swimming-pool has something unique on Koh Kood. Not only because of its orange colour but with its 20 meters long it makes it the biggest pool on the island, surrounded by wooden sun loungers and wide orange umbrellas.
It also integrates a kid's area, very shallow, massaging jets, and a relaxing corner with a lounger directly on the water.
The fitness centre is also the biggest on the island. Only the resort's guests can have access and it's free of charge.
The gym is air-conditioned and very spacious. There are a treadmill, an indoor bike, an elliptical trainer, a set of dumbbells, and a multi-exercise machine. It's complete to continue your training during your holidays.
The beach in front of the resort is really peaceful and clean. It's about 20 meters from the swimming pool and from the Beach Front Villas.
The white sand, the swing in a tree, and the crystal clear water make it like a small Paradise. And it's very quiet, there isn't a lot of people.
There are wooden sun loungers where the guests can relax but also order all kinds of cocktails, drinks, and snacks from the Beach Bar.
If you want to discover the surroundings by the sea, there are a few kayaks available for the resort's guests and also free of charge.
There is no Spa in this resort but at the beach, you can get different types of massage.
From the reception you can rent scooters, it will cost you about 650 baht per day and it's very useful to visit the island as you don't see so many taxis as in Koh Chang. Roads in Koh Kood are very nice and in very good condition. And the traffic is extremely quiet, it has happened that after an hour of riding I didn't even cross a car, a taxi, or a truck. If you come from Koh Chang, you will be amazed to see how quiet and safe are the roads.
At the lobby there is a very small shop, selling flip-flops, swimming suits, t-shirts, snorkelling masks, and a few other products. And with those hanging wooden chairs, it's another peaceful area to hang out, reading a book or surfing the web, using the free Wi-Fi which is available everywhere inside the resort but also inside the Villas and Rooms.
Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort is very quiet and it's a beautiful place to relax. The beach never gets crowded, there are plenty of places everywhere, around the pool and nearby the beach.
The staff is friendly and very helpful, as well as the management who is all the time concerned by the well-being of their guests.
Evening at the pool, at the beach, on the pier, or at the beach bar is just magic. Sunsets are beautiful and you then understand the meaning of "Paradise".
