The Emerald Cove Resort

The Emerald Cove Koh Chang Resort is a 5-star hotel and one of the nicest and biggest resorts on Koh Chang with direct access to the beach.
It’s located on the extreme south of Klong Prao beach and at 10 minutes walk from the center of Klong Prao village where you can find all that you could need like supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, drugstores, bakery, cloth shops,… and even a Buddhist temple if you have a need of meditation of just curious to visit it.

End of 2016 most of the resort has been renovated, from the kitchen to the swimming pool and some of the rooms.

Since 2013 the resort has been awarded by several travelling and booking websites, raising it to the Top-3 list with more than 1000 positive reviews.

The Emerald Cove Koh Chang Resort has its own sandy beach with direct access to the sea. You can sunbathe on their comfortable wooden sunbeds or be under the shadow of the palm trees. Clean beach towels are also supplied by the resort to their guests.

In this resort there are 165 rooms and suites dispatched in 8 types:
Superior (mountain view), Deluxe (mountain view), Deluxe Ocean Facing (sea view), Deluxe Premium Wing (new style of decoration and mountain view), Deluxe Ocean Premium Facing (sea view), Grand Deluxe Ocean Facing (sea view, corner room, only with a king-size bed), Grand Deluxe Ocean Facing Premium Wing (sea view, corner room, only one double room available) and 1 Bedroom Suite.

All the rooms have their own private balcony with outside wooden furniture. They also all include an LCD and satellite TV, a safety box, a minibar, a/c with an individual controller, a kettle with coffee and tea facilities, a private bathroom with cold and hot water but also with a bathtub and a separate shower.

The Grand Deluxe Ocean Facing rooms are bigger than the Superior and Deluxe rooms, they have the same equipment but have also a DVD player (a wide variety of recent movies are available at the reception and for free).

The Suites are the largest rooms, 2 times the area of a Grand Deluxe room with the same facilities except there is a separate living room, an oversized bathtub integrating a Jacuzzi and it's available only with a king-size bed.
The Suites have a view of the ocean and pool and they have a traditional Thai design.

The “Premium Wing” rooms are the newly refurbished and redesigned rooms (done in Nov 2016). They have darker wood wall panels, a new type of lighting, they look a bit more modern and contemporary and less traditional Thai. They are the only differences.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and everywhere inside the resort.
Rooms which don’t have a DVD player can rent it at the reception.
24-hour in-room dining service is also available with International and Asian favourites.

The stunning 50 meters long beachfront swimming pool is the gem of this resort. It has also been renovated at the end of 2016 and it’s surrounded by new wooden sunbeds and large umbrellas. There is also an outdoor Jacuzzi and a kids pool to please everybody.

From The Pool Bar, you can order and enjoy delicious snacks and beautiful cocktails.

The breakfast is taken at The Cove Terrace, this beach restaurant has also been renovated at the end of 2016. This is a buffet breakfast with a large choice of European and Asian food.

There are 5 different places inside the resort where to get food and refreshments:
- The Cove Terrace restaurant is opened from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm and from where the buffet breakfast is served as well as an all-day à la carte menu.
- Sassi, a stylish and modern restaurant, opened from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm and serves traditional Italian cuisine.
- Just Thai which is opened from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm is proposing a wide selection of Thai and Seafood specialties.
- The Pool Bar, open from 10.00 am to 11.00 pm and from where you can get refreshments and snacks and of course at the pool.
- Macao Club is the latest sophisticated entertainment venue, located in the lobby area, away from the rooms to not disturb you, and opened from 4.00 pm to 1.00 am. Drinks, cocktails, ice-cold beer, snacks and DJs.

The Emerald Spa which is looking towards the beach is proposing a wide variety of massages and body and facial treatments, for women but also for men. The professional and trained therapists know how to relax you and release your muscular pains.

With all those restaurants you may need to burn calories. The Fitness Center is available and free of charge to the resort’s guests.

The Library Cigar and Whiskey Lounge is planning to open soon. I don't need to explain what is its purpose and function, you find it out from the name.

Kayaks can be rented if you want to explore the resort by the sea. A Diving Center and Koh Chang Sailing Center, which are proposing courses for beginners and activities for experimented are also available at the resort.
